TenCate Advanced Armor appoints former Oshkosh Defense president John Urias as member of the Advisory Board

TenCate Advanced Armor (TCAA) is pleased to announce that John M. Urias has joined TCAA’s Advisory Board. Prior to this appointment, he led Oshkosh Corporation’s global defense segment, including all tactical wheeled vehicle programs, product development, and vehicle life-cycle sustainment services.

During his tenure at Oshkosh Defense, he and his team won the coveted $6.75B Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program and numerous other U.S. and international contracts, setting the stage for continued growth in spite of the anticipated U.S. Department of Defense spending downturn.

Prior to joining Oshkosh, he worked for Raytheon Company, where he served as vice president of programs for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.

“We are pleased to welcome John Urias to our Advisory Board and very much look forward to his strong contributions, his experience, and impeccable reputation. His extensive military and corporate experience will help guide us during this current period of rapid global growth,” said TCAA Group Director, Steen Tanderup.

“I am delighted to join the TCAA Advisory Board and look forward to working closely with TCAA’s leadership,” said John Urias. “TCAA is a highly capable and motivated team of professionals with a strong winning spirit.”

John Urias is a former Army Major General whose distinguished career included operational, staff and materiel acquisition assignments at the highest levels, including commander, 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and commanding general of the Joint Contracting Command – Iraq/Afghanistan (JCC-I/A) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In addition, he served as the Program Executive Officer of Air, Space & Missile Defense, the deputy for systems acquisition at the Tank and Automotive Command (TACOM), and is responsible for establishing the U.S. Army’s Warfighter Information Network – Tactical (WIN-T).
